Racing Demon
Racing Demon makes his eagerly awaited return on Thursday and I for one am really looking forward to seeing him.
He has so much natural ability and last season would have been ideal for him with really just Kauto Star at the top of his game.
I recently contacted Henrietta Knight and she reports her stable star in fine fettle for an attempt at his 3rd Peterborough Chase and his current odds of 5/1 are generous indeed.
His performance in the 2008 Ryanair Chase was pretty special-did he win? No in fact he did not even place but the race needs to be watched to witness how good this horse actually is, jumping out to his right (as usual) Demon gave away to much ground and 3 out was literally tailed off with even AP giving up but Racing Demon powered home to finish a close 6th.
Im still unsure as to his optimum trip, 3 miles at Kempton/Aintree is probably ok but anyone else he just does not stay-despite looking like he would in some of his previous races.
His low head carrage is brilliant-always looks like he will fall but has done only once in his career and that was over hurdles.
I fully expect Racing Demon to be a big player this year and will be backing him for the King George today.
