Dubai Carnival Day 2 Meydan 04/02/2010

18:49, Dubal International DX Technology Trophy Handicap (AW) (3YO plus) - 1m 2f

Selections:-

14.35 Balcarve Nov-fit from a recent spin at Wolverhampton which should put him spot on for this and has good e/w chance with Spencer on board.

15.10 Warsaw-I tipped him up last week and he ran well staying on late, back to 7f will suit and big chance of being in the frame.

15.45 Frozen Power-On a bit of a recovery mission having been well touted to win a big prize at the back end of the season, however if Dettori's choice in this race so hopefully means signs at home are promising for a good run.

16.19 Tartan Gigha-Ran a good race last time out from poor draw, got box seat in 1 today and could try make all under Ryan Moore-place claims at least.

17.05 Montpellier-A horse I liked years ago when with Ed Dunlop, has been in the uae for a few years now and always runs well in these races.

17.40 Crowded House-This is the one horse for this carnival in my opinion, I was at epsom and his Derby performance was actually quite good-probably did not stay so this step down in trip and the World Cup 10f should be right up his street, has the ability to travel and quicken and im hoping for a bold show.

18.15 Red Rock Canyon-Going to take a gamble on this horse staying this trip, Dam won the Oaks and he is closely related to Horatio Nelson who given the chance would have proved a douty stayer, hoping they try make the running with him, if stays has place claims.

18.49 King Of Rome- Another I put up last week and ran a cracker to place, trip no concern and should again be in the shake up.

So Selections are:-

14.35 Balcarve Nov 8/1
15.10 Warsaw 16/1
15.45 Frozen Power 4/1

17.05 Montpellier 10/1

Summary

A few dissapointing results, Warsaw and Red Rock Canyon in particular, however great run from Montpellier who went down by the smallest of nostrels and what a run by Crowded House considering how long he had been off the track etc: that should put him spot on for his next run and then hopefully the World Cup itself.
