Dubai Carnival Day 1 Meydan 28/01/2010
The first day is going to be hard in terms of punting as there is no history to go by and so far only trials have taken place on the track so still remains to be seen whether they will be a bias for front runners/hold up horses etc:
So I will put selections purely up on form alone and next week will be able to assess how the track rode.

Selections:-
14.44- Dawnbreak for the Godolphin team who are sure to want to get the ball rolling quickly, this filly won first time out at Lingfield so should have no issues with the surface, the fact she is in this race and not something easier indicates to me a big run.
15.20- King Of Rome is the class act in this field and has had a prep race for this and should take alot of beating.
16.05- Bab Al Salam, progessive on the all weather and turf last year and should give a good account today.
16.50- Sir Gerry, when it clicks for this fellow he is well handicapped and the surface may just suit.
17.35- Red Rock Canyon, Often used in a pace making roll for Coolmore and first real chance to show his true ability for trainer who has done well with previous ballydoyle outcasts.
18.20- Midshipman, Classy sort and if handles surface (no reason to think he won't) is the one to beat.
19.05- Warsaw, recent run should put him spot on for this, distance no problem and good chance.
So selections and odds are below, I would advise e/w bets on all bar Bab Al Salam and Midshipman.
