Tipping Service Review 2011
Foreword
Its been some year for the Hudsonshorses tipping service with a profit accrued at every major horse racing festival and over 150 points profit (using 1 point stakes) which is an improvement of some 40 points on 2010's total.
My background is very much flat racing but one of the highlights this year had to be the two Cheltenham ante posts bets advised in early February which saw Noble Prince 8/1 and Albertas Run 10/1 bound up that Cheltenham hill on a glorious Thursday afternoon in March.
Another main highlight would have to be the 66/1 winner (Outpost) in August, it was only a moderate Southwell maiden but I didn't half shout alot!
And please find a brief month by month review below:-
January 2011
Little to comment on, it was a snowy/wet month and winners were not easy to come by, the best winner tipped up was Grey Gold at 10/1 who won purely because he handled testing conditions, I put up Sparky May at 12/1 e/w ante post for the mares hurdle in Cheltenham this month-she finished 2nd at 4/1.
Months Profit/Loss + 2.20
February 2011
A month that yielded a memorable winner but alas is was to be his last, I put Eric's Charm up at 20/1 at his beloved Sandown and he duely obliged, but with great sadness he broke down on his next start and is no longer with us (a grand horse he was), apart from that the rest of the winners were quite short prices.
Months Profit/Loss + 3.52
March 2011
March was a bumper month for the tipping service with a huge 45.23 points profit being made with winners including:-
Months Profit/Loss + 45.23
April 2011
I don't think have ever had a month like April in my life, to put things into reality on the 20th April the tipping service was minus 30 points for the month (yes minus 30!) from the 6th-20th I could not tip a waiter and literally baring a few e/w places everything lost, however on the day of the 20th Capable Guest won at 14/1 and the biggest comeback in Hudsonshorses history began with 11 winners tipped up in the last week of the month one of which being 20/1 Kames Park and goodness knows how but ended the month in profit.
Months Profit/Loss + 3.52
May 2011
I never do very well in May for some reason, the flat has started but the Guineas meeting is never easy and generally I struggle with the whole month and that was the case and looking back at the results now the only decent win had was Rosbay at 7/1 the rest were pretty short.
Months Profit/Loss - 5.64
June 2011
Epsom then Royal Ascot this is generally where the tipping service starts to kick into gear for the flat season and so it proved the case again in 2011 with 23 points profit being made and big winners including:-
I also put up Carlton House up ante post for the Derby at 8/1 in April and of course from a personal view The Tatling won at Yarmouth this month.
Months Profit/Loss + 23.18
July 2011
I was slightly disapointed with this months results, usually you would hope to be around the 20 points profit mark so 11 was a bit poor but still we had a good Glorious Goodwood and winners this month included:-
Crystal Capella 9/2
Ladies Are Forever 9/1 (Summer Stakes)
Spice Fair 7/1
Twice Over 5/2 (York Stakes)
Opinion Poll 5/1 (Goodwood Cup)
Meeznah 9/1 (Lillie Langtry)
Drunken Sailor 6/1
Nebraas 4/1
Those last four winners were also tipped in a row at Goodwood so members had 4 straight winning bets during Glorious Goodwood 2011.
Months Profit/Loss + 11.18
August 2011
This month was more or less down to one selection in Outpost who won on the 30th August 2011 at Southwell at the grand price of 66/1 and in turn enabled a decent months total.
Months Profit/Loss + 37.85
End Of Summer 2011
At this point I now class this as the end of the summer flat season but in turn members will be showing a + 66.57 points profit from May-August end which is not bad going at all.
September 2011
Nothing special to report on this month, had a few nice winners in Gallego 7/1 and Select Committee 8/1 and made a nice tidy profit of just over 5 points.
Months Profit/Loss + 5.68
October 2011
The flat season is winding down at this point and results can start to be a bit strange-especially if its soft ground and it was no surprise my biggest winners of the month came on the all weather in the well handicapped Vhujon who won at 12/1 and with a mudlark River Dragon 16/1 who handled conditions better than the rest apart from that my selection in the Arc-Workforce was stuffed and it was just a case of playing safe to enable another winning month.
Months Profit/Loss + 4.37
November 2011
A nice months total mainly down to a good breeders cup where we made over 10 points profit and the famous victory of Carruthers in the Hennessy at 16/1, when I put him up I was hoping for a place at best but it was great to see this little horse win!
Months Profit/Loss + 24.93 (6th winning months on the trot)
December 2011
I am writing this on the evening of the 29th but its already been a great month with Le Beau Bai winning twice for us at 12/1 and then 10/1 at the weekend (Welsh National) on top of Garde Champetres (6/1) lucky win, Fiendish Flames (8/1) demolition job and Primrose Times 11/1 win today all means its going to be another winning month and the 7th in a row.
And from a personal view The Tatlings win at Wolverhampton on the 12th was something very very special.
Months Profit/Loss + 16.13
